The ZHR Polish Scouts of Canada camp is a very special place for Maya, a place she's known since she was little and still returns to every year. She started as a little Zuch, became a full-fledged Harcerka (scout) and has been the komendantka of Oboz (summer camp) for the last five years.
The camp is located in Kaszuby, a region of Ontario once settled by Polish pioneers. To this day, it is a major destination for Polish scouts.
Kaszuby is close to Algonquin Provincial Park, a beautiful bit of the Canadian wilderness that inspired the Group of Seven painters. Alex and Maya go camping there every summer!
